Daily Newsletter 12/15/25
Following Friday’s sell-off, particularly in AI and tech stocks, markets are now searching for direction this morning. As noted repeatedly, medium-term uncertainty remains elevated; however, the outlook ahead is divided into two phases: pre- and post-holidays, with certain sectors positioned to outperform in each.
Sector Views
Fully bullish on financials, especially major banks. Moderately bullish on housing, defense, and nuclear-related stocks. Medium- to long-term bullish on gold, silver, and select commodities beyond these core holdings.
Near-Term Expectations
Indexes should trend upward through the holidays despite AI-related fears. Weakening U.S. employment trends and depressed consumer confidence—while concerning—are familiar developments. A Santa Claus rally remains likely, with Friday marking a temporary pullback.
