Daily Newsletter 1/5/26
Recent geopolitical and political developments have validated our market assessments, particularly in the defense and financial sectors, where our positions have performed strongly in line with expectations.
Our defense and financial holdings are already generating profits, and we anticipate additional short-term gains driven by ongoing momentum in these areas. While some positions deviated from our projections—most notably our gold-related trades, which we exited prematurely on primarily technical grounds, and our housing positions, which underperformed despite expectations of further upside—our assessment there proved incorrect. Our Japan position is also moving as expected, although it has not fully reached its target yet. Overall, the portfolio has evolved favorably.
